President Trump Launches National Commission on Religious Freedom to Combat Anti-Christian Bias

Washington, D.C. – May 14, 2025

In a bold move to defend the foundational principles of faith and liberty, President Donald J. Trump today announced the establishment of the National Commission on Religious Freedom. Unveiled during a National Day of Prayer event at the White House, this commission aims to address and eliminate anti-Christian discrimination within the federal government.

The commission will be co-chaired by Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Bishop Robert Barron, both esteemed leaders in the Christian community. Their appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to restoring religious values in public life.

“For too long, Christians have faced marginalization and hostility from within our own government,” President Trump stated. “This commission will ensure that the rights of believers are protected and that our nation remains true to its spiritual heritage.”

The initiative has been met with widespread approval from faith-based organizations and conservative leaders. Many see it as a necessary step to counteract years of secular policies that have eroded religious freedoms.

Critics, however, argue that the commission blurs the line between church and state. Yet supporters contend that it merely reaffirms the First Amendment rights of all Americans.

This move aligns with President Trump’s broader agenda to prioritize faith and traditional values in governance. It follows his previous actions, including the establishment of the White House Faith Office and efforts to protect religious institutions from government overreach.

As the commission begins its work, it is expected to review federal policies, recommend reforms, and advocate for legislation that upholds religious liberties. Its formation marks a significant moment in the ongoing effort to ensure that America’s Judeo-Christian foundations are preserved for future generations.
