Your Harvest Begins With the Seed
What do you do when you believe God has something greater for your life, but your circumstances look nothing like the promise?
That question became the focus of the latest Fresh Fire broadcast, “12 Things You Must Do to Reap the Harvest of God in Your Life.”
The message begins with Isaac in Genesis 26. He faced famine, dry ground and circumstances that appeared completely wrong for planting. Yet Isaac sowed anyway. Scripture records that he reaped a hundredfold and that the Lord blessed him.
The lesson is simple: your present circumstances do not necessarily determine your future harvest.
Prepare Your Heart and Plant the Right Seed
The first step is preparing the soil of your heart.
Just as a farmer prepares the ground before planting, believers must confront bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment, jealousy and other spiritual obstacles that can interfere with what God wants to produce. The broadcast encourages believers to seek God, pray and allow Him to cleanse the heart before expecting a new harvest.
Next comes the seed.
Galatians 6 teaches that whatever a person sows, that person will also reap. Therefore, our prayers, actions, words, obedience, service and sacrifices can be understood as seeds that shape what develops in our lives.
Keep Sowing When Life Gets Difficult
One of the broadcast’s central messages is not to wait for perfect conditions.
Isaac sowed during famine.
Likewise, believers should not stop praying when circumstances become difficult, stop serving because people disappoint them or abandon their calling because the timing feels wrong.
Faith means continuing to obey God even when the harvest remains invisible.
The message then points believers toward Scripture itself. God’s Word is described as seed that must be planted continually in a believing and obedient heart.
Water the Seed With Prayer
Planting is only the beginning.
The broadcast uses 1 Corinthians 3 to emphasize that one plants and another waters, but God ultimately gives the increase.
Prayer is compared to water.
Believers are encouraged to pray consistently over their families, finances, ministries, callings and the promises they believe God has placed in their lives.
Protect What God Is Growing
The message also warns about spiritual weeds.
Gossip, contention, unhealthy relationships, worldly ambition and an excessive desire for approval can compete with what God is developing.
Believers are therefore challenged to examine what consumes their time, energy and attention.
The remaining principles emphasize obedience, faithfulness with what God has already provided, refusing comparison, patiently waiting for God’s timing and refusing to quit before the harvest arrives.
Your Harvest Should Bless Someone Else
The final lesson may be the most important.
A harvest is not meant to end with us.
The broadcast teaches that when God provides increase, believers should use what they receive to serve, give and sow into others. Some of the harvest becomes bread to enjoy, while another portion becomes seed for the next harvest.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 KJV
The message of Fresh Fire is clear: prepare your heart, plant good seed, pray, obey, remain faithful and do not abandon the field simply because you cannot yet see what is growing.
Your waiting season does not have to become your quitting season.

And when the harvest comes, use it to become a blessing to someone else.
