As America approaches its 250th anniversary, a major faith-centered gathering is set to take place on the National Mall. This event calls the nation back to its spiritual foundation.
The event, known as Rededicate 250, is scheduled for May 17 in Washington, D.C. It is being described as a National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving. In addition, organizers say the gathering will focus on remembering God’s hand in the nation’s history. It will also include seeking His guidance for the future.
At a time when the country faces deep division and uncertainty, this event aims to shift the focus back to faith.
A Day Centered on Scripture and Prayer
The event will begin with fellowship near the U.S. Capitol and continue throughout the day with worship, prayer, Scripture readings, and personal testimonies.
Organizers have made the purpose clear.
This is not just a celebration.
It is a rededication.
Participants will come together to acknowledge what they describe as God’s providence over the past 250 years. They will also pray for direction in the years ahead. Moreover, the gathering will emphasize unity under faith and a renewed commitment to the idea of One Nation under God.
Scripture reminds us of the importance of turning back to God as a nation.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven – 2 Chronicles 7:14
That message sits at the center of this moment.
A Powerful Lineup of Leaders
Rededicate 250 will feature a wide range of prominent faith and public leaders from across the country.
Speakers expected to participate include Reverend Franklin Graham, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, and others. These speakers have been vocal about the role of faith in public life.
In addition, faith leaders from multiple traditions are scheduled to take part. This includes Bishop Robert Barron, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Pastor Jentezen Franklin, Pastor Jack Graham, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, Reverend Samuel Rodriguez, and Pastor Jonathan Falwell.
The event will also feature Christian worship leader Chris Tomlin, known for widely recognized songs of worship. He will headline the musical portion of the gathering.
This combination of voices reflects a broad call for spiritual reflection across denominational and cultural lines.
A Moment of Reflection and Direction
As the semiquincentennial approaches, events like Rededicate 250 highlight a growing desire among many Americans to revisit the nation’s roots.
For some, this is about history.
For others, it is about identity.
And for many, it is about the future.
Proverbs reminds us of the importance of guidance.
Where there is no vision, the people perish – Proverbs 29:18
Moments like this invite reflection on where the nation has been and where it is heading.
Where We Stand
Rededicate 250 is more than an event.
A statement that faith still matters, a statement that prayer still has a place in public life, and a statement that the future of the nation is worth seeking God over.
Pray for unity in a divided nation, pray for humility among leaders and citizens, and pray that truth, wisdom, and righteousness will guide the next chapter of America’s story.
