In a riveting interview on Political Pulpit, Evangelist Elliot Turner revealed how God transformed his life from the depths of addiction and despair to the heights of ministry and revival. Growing up in a single-parent Christian home, Turnerโs childhood was marked by a longing for a father figureโa void he initially tried to fill with drugs and harmful relationships. By the age of 17, he had experienced a drug overdose that left him on the edge of death. It was at that critical moment, lying on a friendโs couch, that he cried out to God, saying, โIf Youโre real, like my mom always said You were, please save me.โ What followed was a profound encounter with Jesus, who spoke clearly to Turner: โIโve given you a second chance, son. Now pick up your cross and follow Me.โ
Turner did just that. Months later, at a youth camp, he experienced another life-altering moment when a pastor embraced him, speaking as if he were the father Turner never had. โForgive me for not being there for you,โ the pastor said. In that instant, Turner felt the chains of addiction and bitterness break. The overwhelming love of God filled the void he had carried for years.
From that point on, Turner dedicated his life to ministry. He earned a full scholarship to Bible college, where he spent three years preparing for his calling. During this time, God spoke to him about raising up a generation that would be addictedโnot to substances or worldly distractionsโbut to His presence. Turner explains, โJust like someone addicted to drugs canโt go long without their fix, weโre meant to crave the presence of God, turning to Him above all else.โ
Today, Turner travels extensively, preaching in schools, colleges, and even the very streets he once frequented as a wayward youth. His ministry, Dunamis Gen, has seen over 13,000 decisions for Christ, with countless testimonies of lives healed, transformed, and restored. At a recent event in South Africa, Turner shared the story of a woman confined to a wheelchair who, after prayer, walked away without itโleaving behind her visible sign of bondage to embrace the freedom Jesus provided.
โRevival is here,โ Turner declared. โThis generation isnโt lost. Weโre seeing young people rise up, encounter Jesus, and change the culture around them. The hunger is real, and the fire is spreading.โ
Through his testimony and the miracles witnessed in his ministry, Evangelist Elliot Turner stands as a living example of what God can do with a surrendered life. His story is a beacon of hope for those struggling with addiction, hopelessness, and despair. Itโs a reminder that no matter how far one has fallen, Jesus can redeem and restore.
